February 16 at 14.00 artist talk by Martin Stråhle in conversation with Tromdheim based visual artist Edith Lundebrekke.

Opening hours:

In the exhibition Väggen mellan oss, Stråhle shows a series of drawings in charcoal on cotton cloth that he worked with during his residency stay in Leipzig (Germany) the fall of 2019. Through the use of materials in the works the limitation of the artist’s own lines is explored, which leads to a simplification of the visual expression in the images.

Martin Stråhle (b. 1987, Sweden) is based in Trondheim. He has a Masters Degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen (2018). Stråhle works primarily with painting and its materiality as well as the relationship the painting has to other media such as sculpture, textile and performance. Recent exhibitions counts participation in Høstutstillingen – Kunstnernes hus, Unge inviterte – The National Association of Norwegian Painters (LNM) and Bare mennesket lager rette linjer – Norsk Billedhuggerforening – Norsk Billedhuggerforening. In 2019 Martin Stråhle was awarded a one-year work grant from the Norwegian Visual Artists Fund.

This exhibition is made possible with support from Trondheim Municipality and Arts Council Norway.
