Prosjektet Hyper Relation reflekterer over hvordan teknologi er en integrert del av våre relasjoner og hvordan dette påvirker våre forutsetninger for interaksjon. Vil teknologi som mellomledd i vår kommunikasjon endre hvordan vi opplever oss selv og hverandre? Kan teknologi gjøre oss til bedre versjoner av oss selv? Når teknologien blir en forlengelse av vår egen kropp gir det oss andre forutsentninger for å oppleve og erfare; er vi da fremdeles istand til å vurdere hvordan teknologi relaterer seg til oss?

Et tverrfaglig nettverk besående av fire kunstnere, en sosiolog og en gründer, har i et symposium delt refleksjoner som danner et grunnlag for utstillingen Hyper Relation. Hilde Amundsen er en av utviklerne av appen Mindfit, som er et redskap for mental helse. Kunstnerne Hilde og Bård Tørdal utforsker hvordan roboter med menneskelige egenskaper kan representere menneskelig interaksjon og hvordan de oppleves. Professor i sosiologi ved NTNU, Aksel Tjora, utforsker teknologi som en del av våre sosiale møter. Kunstner Anne Helga Henning utforsker sammenhengen mellom sansing og refleksjon gjennom deltakende kunstprosjekt med barn og pasienter med demens, og kunstner Matilde W. Gaustad arbeider med gråsonene mellom menneske og maskin, inspirert av queer teori og science fiction.

Hyper Relation er tilknyttet konferansen Technoport 2017 (http://conference.technoport.no/) som et partner event. Under debatten Human Touch? torsdag 09. mars kl. 15 utgjør utstillerne et panel som vil diskutere prosjektets problemstillinger. Debatten holdes på Clarion Hotell Brattøra (inngang ved resepsjon) og vil foregå på engelsk. Moderator er Snorre Valen. Gratis inngang.

Hyper Relation is a cross-disciplinary collaboration, questioning how tech as a more integrated part of our lives has become a prerequisite to how we relate to the world. Its main focus is on how technology as an extension of our body, gives us other perspectives on what we discover and experience as humans. Will technology as an intermediary in gradually more compassionate actions change how we experience our self and others? What is fundamentally human and what is fundamentally machine? What creates the self? How do we change in response to technological progress? Can tech help us to become a bette version of our self, or do we need more of the human touch to have a grater potential? With already a new vision, there is a need to reflect upon how technology relates to us. 

The participants have shared there knowledge and expertise in a symposium. The result of the reflections in the aftermath is presented as an exhibition at Babel Art Space. The different questions that emerged during the process will be discussed in the debate, Hyper Relation -Human touch? at Technoport, Thursday March the 9^th at 3 p.m.

The participants in the debate are; Hilde Amundsen, founder of the app Mindfit– a tool designed for mental health care, the artists Hilde Tørdal and Bård Tørdal, researching on how robots can represent human interaction and how robots are evoking emotions, Prof. in Sociology, Aksel Tjora, NTNU, exploring technologies in social interaction, artist Anne Helga Henning who runs participatory art projects for children and patients with dementia based on hands on research of the connection between sensing and reflection, and artist Matilde Westavik Gaustad working in the meeting point between human and machine seen trough science fiction and queer theory.

The debate will be held at Hotel Clarion at Brattøra (entrance next to the reception). It will be moderated by Snorre Valen and will be given in english. Free entrance.
