Welcome to the final part of LKV’s anniversary exhibition Chronic Pluralism!
Opening: Thursday December 1st, 18:00–20:00.
We take 29 new foreign elements and mash them together in a small room. They will live together for a few weeks. Uprooted from their safe surroundings. Deployed. They will shine for themselves, and yield to the unit. Stand on each other’s shoulders and take all the attention. Those who are able to see the second least spectacular, or give the benefit of the doubt to what does not immediately look like the cream of the crop, might find the common thread. Visually or thematically. Or neither. Doesn’t that remind you of something… The references spread like grains of sand. Best to keep a good distance, or to get so close that everything else disappears.
There’s a window hanging in the window. They’re co-hanging. And through them you can see other windows in to, or out into, other landscapes. Connections. Wind from other places. Blowing observations in through 29 open windows. Meadows. The scent from 29 wild plants. Representants. No one has a veto there. Everyone must take their place. For some, it’s on the verge of self-annihilation. For others, like a crutch stabilisation.
