Sepideh Rahaas arbeider relaterer seg til geopolitiske spørsmål om enkeltindividets endrede liv som en konsekvens av nasjonal og internasjonal politikk, samt maktforholdet mellom menneske og samfunn. I utstillingen fokuserer Rahaa på kvinners liv og presset de opplever som følge av sosiopolitiske forhold og endringer:

“The Passage” is a pass through the life of Iranian women. It is a transit between the past and the present, a reflection of time and conflict, about me and my experience of changes in Iranian society and conditions of women’s life. The Passage is a way of challenging concepts related to boundaries and the necessity of presence.

Sepideh Rahaa er en iransk kunstner bosatt i Helsinki, Finland. Hun vil snart bli uteksaminert med en MFA ved Aalto-universitetet i Helsinki. Hun har studert maleri og visuell kunst (BFA) og har en mastergrad innen Iransk Persisk maleri og mystikk. Hun har vært seksjonsleder for maleriavdelingen ved universitetet i Iran mellom 2008- 2012.

Sepideh Rahaas work relates to geopolitical questions about the changing of the individuals lives caused by national and international policies, as well as power relations between people and society. In the exhibition Rahaa places the focus upon women’s lives and the pressure they experience due to socio-political circumstances and changes:

“The Passage” is a pass through the life of Iranian women. Sepideh Rahaa is an Iranian artist living in Helsinki, Finland. She is about to graduate from a master’s degree of Fine Arts at Aalto University, school of art and design and architecture. She has studied Painting and Visual arts (BA), and holds a master’s degree in Iranian Persian Painting and mysticism. She has been head of the painting department at the university in Iran between 2008- 2012.
